Dave B and I have started working on the next Bloody Big Battles game: Omdurman.

Here is the battlefield:

BBB Omdurman Battlefield

This was created from the map that I created and published on the BBB Yahoo Group.

I created this map from several period maps showing hand-drawn elevations. Since then, when I started building the actual board, I looked at Google satelite view of the area. While the main features remained consistent, I decided to change the river bank from generic difficult terrain to fields. The battle effects are the same.

For terrain, all that is remaining is to make the three villages, the trenches and the zariba (piled brush). None of those are attached to the board permanently.

I have started assmbling the gunboats and prepping the Anglo-Allied forces. Dave has a bunch of 10mm Mahdists which need to be rebased.

Here is a link to download the scenario:

Don't know why it posted originally under files. Have we done maintenance on the forum? I deleted the cross-thread and will try again to post under the correct forum. Guess I better get busy re-basing those Mahdists

Whew!

Yeah, I'll paint the Brits first, along with the camels and other mounted troops. Then we can play test using your Turks for Egyptians.

I should get painting them this week. Maybe ready to play test by the end of the month?
